Stainless Steel Agitator Frame

I. Standard-type frames should be prioritized.

II. Non-supported frames are generally only used for transmitting low power and small axial loads. A non-supported frame may be selected when the motor or reducer has two support points and it has been verified that the bearings can withstand the radial and axial loads transmitted by the agitator shaft.

III. A single-support frame may be selected when any of the following conditions are met:

1. The motor or reducer has one support point, and calculations confirm it can bear the agitator shaft load.
2. A bottom bearing is installed to serve as one support point.
3. The shaft seal assembly incorporates a bearing with one support point.
4. A guide bearing is installed mid-shaft within the mixing vessel, which can function as one support point.

IV. When conditions for selecting a non-supported or single-supported frame are not met, a double-supported frame should be selected.

V. Select the bearing type (e.g., radial bearings, thrust bearings, self-aligning bearings, or sliding bearings) and dimensions for the frame or agitator shaft based on factors including the magnitude and direction of transmitted agitator shaft loads, as well as overall alignment requirements for all support points in the drive system.

VI. When using flexible shafts, consider whether vibration isolation is required between the frame and the mixing vessel.
