Basic Principles and Features
The TD belt-type/gear-type side mixer extends into the tank from the tank sidewall and connects to the tank opening flange via a mounting base plate.
The mixer impeller comes in three configurations: a three-wide-blade integral propeller type, a three-blade propeller-type agitator, and a three-narrow-blade propeller type.
These high-efficiency axial flow agitators feature large circulation capacity, low power consumption, and moderate shear force, making them suitable for a wide range of applications.
The installation angle of belt-driven/gear-driven side-mounted agitators is fixed: the axial flow direction of the blades is deflected 7° (or 10°) to the left of the tank bottom centerline and tilted downward by 10°. This generates equal vertical and horizontal flow within the equipment (see Figure 1). Simultaneously, axial movement is impeded by the tank wall, causing the liquid to circulate along the tank wall in a circular motion. This achieves excellent homogenization of the liquid within the tank and prevents sedimentation of materials, offering a high cost-performance ratio. The TD/gear-type side agitator is primarily used for low-viscosity mixing, dissolving, suspension, crystallization, reaction, heat transfer, dilution, blending, and similar processes.
Note: After installation of the agitator equipment, conduct a load test run with water carrying the material. The liquid level must be higher than the mechanical seal end of the side agitator. Rotate clockwise.
